The authors should submit final versions of their papers to Douglas Stinson at dstinson@uwaterloo.ca by September 30. The papers are to be typeset in LNCS style with a maximum of 18 pages (including bibliography and appendices).

The Selected Areas in Cryptography (SAC) workshop series was initiated in 1994, when the first workshop was held at Queen’s University in Kingston. The SAC proceedings are published in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series published by Springer.

SAC 2010 is held “in co-operation with” the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), which is the leading professional organization for cryptographic research.

The SAC workshop has been held annually since 1994 in various Canadian locations, including Calgary, Kingston, Montreal, Ottawa, Sackville, St. John’s, Toronto and Waterloo.

The objective of the workshop is to present cutting edge research in the designated areas of cryptography and to facilitate future research through an informal and friendly workshop setting.

SAC 2010

SAC 2010 will be held at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, during August 12-13, 2010.

Organizers are:

  • Alex Biryukov, Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication, University of Luxembourg
  • Guang Gong, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo
  • Douglas Stinson, David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo

Topics

There are four areas covered at each SAC workshop. Three of the areas are permanent

  • design and analysis of symmetric key primitives and cryptosystems, including block and stream ciphers, hash functions and MAC algorithms;
  • efficient implementations of symmetric and public key algorithms;
  • mathematical and algorithmic aspects of applied cryptology.

The fourth area for SAC 2010 is

  • applications of coding theory and combinatorics in cryptography.

Invited Speakers

  • Alexandra Boldyreva, School of Computer Science, College of Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Keith Martin, Information Security Group, Royal Holloway, University of London
